Above the Cutline

Six bottles of PowerAide. That’s the number that a few of the contestants in the just finished Above the Cutline Tournament drank to make sure they didn’t get dehydrated, and the funny thing was that they were no bathroom visits with drinking all that PowerAide.

After 3.5 hours of almost continues play, Ted Hendrickson emerged as our undisputed champion winning against me, Bahman Azarm, 11-7, 8-11, 14-12, 11-5. Previous to that, both semi final matches, mine against Gavin McMahon, and Ted’s against Jane Segal, were marathon matches as well. Personally, my muscles are still hurting from Saturday’s tournament. Congratulations Ted on a great performance.

On the consolation side, equally tough matches were played with Emily Caldwell narrowly losing against John Foley. Well done to both of them for being in the finals.

In short, SRC’s second annual Above the Cutline Tournament was enjoyed by many this past weekend and promises to be an ever more popular format among our squash players.
